2018 Global Tourism Expo To Be Held In Myanmar

It has been announced by the general manager of ICVeX Co, ChinakitViphavakit, that next year will be the first ever Myanmar International Tourism Exhibition and Yangon is the chosen venue. It is scheduled from July 20 until 22. Tourists planning to come should book the best hotel in Yangon as early as now to avoid full bookings and high prices.

It is expected that more than 100 international travel businesses from over 10 countries in Asia are going to come. Chinakit also said that the event will be a business platform for Myanmar to be showcased as a travel destination by the international tourism industry. This is also a chance for local travel firms in the country to network with international businesses. Together they can sell travel tickets to tourists coming in and locals going out of the country.

This is also a change for the tourism sector to entice foreign travellers to visit Yangon. Chinakit said that both Taiwan and Thailand have already promised to join the tourism expo next year.

This is not the first time that Myanmar will be hosting the global tourism expo because ASEAN Tourism Forum was conducted at Nay Pyi Taw back in 2014.

The organizers of the expo are ICVeX together with Tourism Authority of Thailand as well as Taiwan’s Tourism Bureau of the Republic of China.

The chair of Union of Myanmar Travel Association, U ThetLwinToh, said that they are not capable to organize the tourism expo until today due to the absence of skilled organizers that will handle the event market, conferences, meetings and incentives.

The tourism expo will be highlighting exhibits regarding education in tourism, medical tourism, travelling for business and weddings. The exhibitors will be charged for their space at $290 for every square meter while every square meter of a typical booth will be charged $320.

As the tourism industry of the country blooms, they expect 3.5 million travellers to arrive before year end. Interested guests to the expo should get the best hotel in Yangon as early as now to get the best deals.
