In addition to this, the said renovation involving the Guangzhou East Railway Station, also includes installing artificial landscape elements, repairing the public spaces surround the area and, introducing a new series of amenities that aim to meet the updated requirements for a modern railway station. The said glass canopy is a curved glass canopy which protects both pedestrians and train riders from excessive rays of the sun and getting wet from the cold rain. The architects also decide to cut several floor openings into the floorings to allow natural light to enter the terminal. Also, all of the metal elements inside the terminal are modular. Majority of the said metal elements were prefabricated by local factories and installed on site so the quality of the elements is ensured.
