Rosewood Hotel Group’s in a good place right now, having recently announced its plans to expand across Asia, with the launch of four new properties to open in the region within the next 6 years.
The Hong Kong based hospitality and accommodation group has also announced a key hiring for one of its properties, their under-development hotel in Ploenchit; the Rosewood Bangkok, which now has an appointed managing director.
The announcement shows that industry veteran Thomas Harlander, will now act as Managing Director for Rosewood Bangkok, which is slated for the opening by the end of 2018. Harlander, who’s been operating for at least 18 years in the luxury hospitality industry, will be bringing all of his experience to the new property, overseeing all aspects of the ‘ultra-luxuy’ hotel in Ploenchit, located in a prime spot along the road, at the heart of Bangkok’s Central Business District, near embassies, residential towers, as well as corporate and upscale retail buildings.
Born and raised in Germany, Harlander has been a name in the hotel industry ever since he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Hotel Management from Simon-Knoll-School in Munich, Germany. Since then, his career has taken him across the world, as he worked in the industry, providing luxury hospitality experience in key gateway cities like London, Washington D.C., Tokyo, and others, with his most recent appointment prior to Rosewood Bangkok being his post as General Manager of the Park Hyatt Hotel in Seoul.
Prior to joining the Rosewood team, his career had been working with the Park Hyatt brand, where he worked as hotel General Manager, as well as handling Senior Food and Beverage Management roles across six cities.
